Getting to know Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai is

cultural place. It is a student city in addition to being a high tourist place,

reputation of Chiang Mai dates back to its strategic location on the ancient
Silk Road, long before the arrival of foreign tourists it was already an
important centre for crafts, umbrellas, Silver jewellery and wooden sculptures.
The province of Chiang Mai has a population of about 1.6 million inhabitants,
of which nearly 700,000 are in the city of Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai is located
800 kilometres north of Bangkok, among the highest mountains in the country.
The city lies on the banks of the Ping River (Mae nam Ping in Thai), an
important tributary of the Chao Phraya River. You will indeed feel in paradise
