How to Teach English in Thailand without a Diploma

There are several certificates that qualify for English teaching jobs of better quality. These certificates are as follows:

TESOL - Teaching English to speakers of other languages
TESL - Teaching English as a Second Language
TEFL - Teaching English as a Foreign Language

Even if not exactly interchangeable, one of these certificates is qualified to teach English abroad. You can take these classes to the United States, many foreign countries, including Thailand, or online. Do you need a high school diploma or the equivalent to qualify for these certificates? You can teach English online in Thailand with these certificates.

Before you begin the application process and interview, there are some steps you can take to improve your chances of success. First, figure what to wear for the interview. Men need shirts with collar, tie and pants. Thai women dress conservatively, so ladies need business clothes that are feminine and not too revealing. Wear shoes, no sandals. There are many candidates for each position, so you need to make a good presentation. Develop a curriculum vitae and cover letter. Focus on training or teaching experience. Even if you are aiming to teach English online in Thailand, you will still need to prove your qualifications thus, posting these certificates with a good appropriately dressed picture of yourself is good.

Obtain letters of reference or references from former employers, teachers or colleagues. Tell them it's for a teaching job, and ask them not to date the letters and include contact information are correct, including an email address. Put this information on a CD so that you can easily make multiple copies in Thailand. Enter your high school diploma or TEFL TESOL certificate on the CD. Once you are ready, the next step is to get known and potential employers. Get a mobile phone and a SIM card, so potential employers can contact you, and change the English language options. Buy a prepaid phone card to put minutes on the phone.
